A-level Case Study 2023
Posted: 18th August 2023Weekend and school holiday lessons helped Sienna Baker to get a step closer to a career dream she has held since she was four.
The Year 13 student today collected two A* grades and a B grade in her A-levels.
She is now heading to University of Nottingham to study veterinary medicine with hopes of becoming a vet in future.
Sienna, from Harlow, said: “I was really nervous going into school this morning, but once I opened the results envelope I was happy that all the hard work had paid off. I was not expecting to do so well in chemistry as I had struggled in that subject, but with the support of the school I was able to get where I am today.
“The school offered extra support during class, extra exam lessons where we went through previous questions, Saturday school and classes during the school holidays. I could see my improvement in the months leading up to the exams, as a result.
“I have had the ambition of becoming a vet since I was four. It feels amazing to think it is becoming a reality.”
Sienna is among the first cohort of sixth formers at Sir Frederick Gibberd after it opened an academic sixth form in 2021.
